This is hilarious! I wish I could contribute, but the shaming of our group's (only!) D20 back in 1978 was when one of us threw it out the window on the San Diego Freeway. -- Don Hawthorne
I had a former friend that could call a number and throw the die across a convention hall room and have it come up the number he called. He did this multiple times.
My 20 sider let me down by failing 5 reflex saves in a row while my character was caught in a trap. Somehow, I managed to make 2 fortitude saves during the same scenario before my demise. My Dex was 26 and my fortitude was 12. <_<
My friend fumbled herself into a pit of mud that she couldn't roll herself out of, after critically failing at attacking her favored enemy for an entire fight. She got so frustrated that She decided to attack herself. She rolled a crit and chopped off her own head.
Dice are not slaves to be owned. Dice are the ethereal children of chance. You as a roller can but hope to partner with them. Like kittens, and plants, poltergeists, dice respond to and reflect the intentions and emotions they are surrounded with. Rather than shaming the dice who partner you, try celebrating the expanse of experience those chaotic cherubs bring to you as a player partner. ReplyDeleteRoll high on useless checks and roll low on important ones... I've had dice like that! I love this dice shaming wall.

ReplyDeleteOh, to make my reflex saving throw? I needed to roll higher than 5, but my fortitude save was 18 or higher.
DeleteAw. That snake-eye die just wanted to play GURPS...

ReplyDeleteA friend playing in my game once threw eight 1's in a row, and fourteen 1's over a 2 hour period. And yes, we were using a fumble table at the time.
